Majority of us do not actually consider what causes the circulation of air in a building. As long as one feels that things are normal, not too stuffy, not too noisy, then it is never noticed. That’s kind of how powervent motors work. They are at the back of the scene, silently going about their business. However, when some misfortune occurs, then it is immediately obvious how valuable they are.
It is one of the parts that you do not realize until you must.
Always working, rarely noticed
The thing about powervent motors is that they do not produce much noise most of the time. It does not have any big sound, or any movement that people are observant of. Air is passing, and all is all right.
Due to that, one forgets that there is even motor involved. But behind this smooth movement of the air, the motor is at work continuously. It does not switch on every now and then, it is a component of the system that continues to operate more regularly than people might appreciate.
Small changes are easy to miss
The symptoms do not necessarily show when a powervent motor begins to wear out. It does not just cease one day in most cases. Rather, there are minor alterations. Perhaps airflow is a little weaker or there is some slight aural noise that has never been present before.
These minor indications are simple to disregard. You may be of opinion that it is nothing, or temporary. However, with time, those little transformations can be indicative of a larger transformation occurring within the system.
It affects more than just airflow
Initially, it appears that the only air movement that is controlled by powervent motors is movement. And that is their primary occupation. However, in the event that they do not perform their functions correctly, they may have an impact on the general comfort of the space.
The air may not distribute evenly, some spots may feel warmer or colder than normal, the system may have to work extra hard to ensure that everything is even. Not necessarily something that you can see but you can feel that there is something wrong.
Wear builds up slowly
Similar to most mechanical components, powervent motors do not remain the same. The wear always occurs to some extent. It develops slowly, thus it is not urgent at the beginning.
